The place to meet people in Tokyo
Talk it out.
No agenda, no experts, no small talk. Just a circle of people in Yoyogi Park, working through the questions that are actually on our minds.

Coming up
Each week we sit with one question and let the conversation wander from there. Turn up for any of these — no need to have read anything or know anyone.
Big questions, gently asked
What would you do differently if no one was watching?
Meaning & the examined life
What does it actually mean to live a good life — and who gets to decide?
Meaning & the examined life
Is happiness the right goal, or is it something else (meaning, growth, connection)?
Meaning & the examined life
If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing?
What to expect
Loosely structured on purpose — enough shape that quiet people still get heard, loose enough that no one's watching the clock. Drop in for all of it or just part of it.
Icebreakers
A few easy, low-stakes questions to get everyone's voice in the circle before the deep stuff starts.
Small groups
We split into groups of four or five and take on the week's question. Small enough that everyone actually gets to talk.
Groups shuffle
You land with new faces and hear the same question turned over from a different angle.
Open hangout
No more structure. Stay with your group, drift to another, or just enjoy the park. Come and go as you like.

Recently discussed
A running record of the questions we've actually sat with — it updates itself automatically as the weeks go by.
Big questions, gently asked
Does everything happen for a reason — or do we just tell ourselves that?
Chiara said it's a story we tell after the fact — the reason shows up in the retelling, not the moment.
Big questions, gently asked
Is it better to be understood or to be free?
Tariq picked understood, without hesitation — he said freedom with no one who gets you isn't much of a prize.
Big questions, gently asked
What is home, really?
Ingrid said home is wherever she can leave the door unlocked in her head, not a specific address.
Self & identity
How much of your identity is performance vs. authenticity?
Felix argued the split is a false one — the performance eventually becomes the authentic thing, if you keep it up long enough.
Self & identity
Is self-improvement healthy, or a sign we're never allowed to just be?
Noa said it depends who's asking — self-improvement for you is healthy, self-improvement for an audience is exhausting.
Self & identity
Are you the same person you were 10 years ago?
Jamal said no, not even close — but the version of him from 10 years ago would probably still recognize him.

Where & when
- Day & time: Every Sunday, from 2pm
- Length: 2 hours
- Place: Yoyogi Park, Shibuya
- Cost: ¥100, to cover organizer costs — no sign-up needed
- Who: Anyone living in or visiting Tokyo
Look for the banner that says “Talk It Out / Tokyo” — that's us. Exact meeting spot inside the park is shared closer to each week. Bring ¥100 in cash and something to sit on if the grass is damp — that's the only prep required. A snack and something to drink helps too; it's easier to relax into a conversation when you're not just sitting there empty-handed.
If it rains and we need to reschedule, or the meeting spot changes, that announcement goes out in our LINE group first — it's the best way to make sure you don't show up to an empty patch of grass.
We use LINE instead of a public event page because it's completely private — the group isn't searchable or visible to anyone outside it, just the people actually coming.

See you Sunday?
The easiest way to actually show up is to join the group first.
